Relationship phases

Any successful relationship, whether a personal or a business relationship, is unique to every pair of individuals, and it evolves over time. The VCP model describes the process of creation, growth and strengthening of business, professional and personal relationships; it is useful for assessing the status of a relationship and where it fits in the process of getting referrals. That’s all we need to use to help us grasp the concept of Phases.  Do not worry about which wall, window or door type you use. These are named “Existing” and “New Construction”. If you open the drop-down selection box for this parameter you will see there is a default list of various options to choose from. The same is true of profitability; it may happen quickly, or it may take years--most likely, somewhere in between. It unfolded in three phases. If you scroll down to the bottom of the box, you will see the Phasing parameters for this view. There are two parameters: Phase Filter and Phase. The Phase Filter parameter lets us decide what we want to see in this view.

. You need to show a development that is to be delivered in phases. Relationship marketing involves building deep networks strongly rooted in a bond or connection that is developed over time with other people. Perhaps you're a customer who has done business with a certain vendor off and on for several months, but to save pennies you keep hunting around for the lowest price, ignoring the value this vendor provides in terms of service, hours, goodwill and reliability. Once you and your new acquaintance begin to form expectations of each other--and the expectations are fulfilled--your relationship can enter the credibility stage. So far, so good! We’ve defined our two phases. All this is critical to successful relationship marketing and networking. You may become personally acquainted and work on a first-name basis, but you know little about each other. So let’s now create a very simple project to show how phases interact with the model elements and the Views. The view should look like this…… If this view doesn’t look like this, right click on the view name, select Properties and ensure the Phase Filter parameter is set to “Show Complete”. You’ve probably heard people say that Christianity is always one generation from extinction. Go ahead and choose “Show Complete” By selecting “Show Complete” this view will show us the model in it’s complete state as of the Phase we set in the second parameter. The second parameter is currently set to “Proposed”. For the purpose of this exercise we are only going to use walls, windows and doors. Switch to the “Proposed” view and add three wall elements to form a small extension to our existing building. So we have two views that look the same, which should come as no surprise! After all, we created our existing building- and we haven’t added any elements to the Proposed phase and we haven’t marked anything for demolition. By default a new Revit project comes with two phases already created. He stops in Lystra to pick up the young disciple who accompanies him, assists him, and serves as a sort of apprentice under him. Profitability is not found by bargain hunting. These relationships don't just spring up full-grown; they must be nurtured. Timothy’s biological father was Greek, but no evidence is ever given that he was a Christian. It starts out tentative, fragile, full of unfulfilled possibilities and expectations. To create our Proposed view, we can use the Duplicate command to create a new View based on the Existing View. In business terms, a potential source of referrals or a potential customer becomes aware of the nature of your business--perhaps because of your PR and advertising efforts, or perhaps through someone you both know. If you have an existing building that you are going to add an extension onto, you may want to have two Phases- “Existing” and “Proposed”. It depends on the frequency and quality of the contacts, and especially on the desire of both parties to move the relationship forward. If we add model elements while we are within the Existing View, then those elements will all have their phase parameter set to Existing by default. This will then allow you to show you existing building as it is now and also as it will be after you have added the extension. Visibility must be actively maintained and developed; without it, you cannot move on to the next level, credibility. Shortsightedness can impede full development of the relationship. Go ahead and change it to “Existing” Every element that we create or place within this view will be given the phase parameter “Existing”. That is, once they are created they are there to stay unless instructed otherwise! Select “Cancel” to put the Element Properties Dialogue box away. Now switch to the “Proposed” view. We call this evolution the VCP model. The “Phase created” parameter will always be set by default to the phase that we set for the View. Views have to have these attributes- how else would we tell Revit what we wish to see in that particular View. They ask someone they know who has known you longer, perhaps done business with you. As soon as you click OK, you will see that Revit now removes the window from the “Proposed” view / phase. In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he points out that, “you know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. My heart hurts as I look around at the number of young Pastors and leaders who are enthusiastically serving with big dreams but who lack spiritual fathers in the generation ahead of them. Use the standard method of right-clicking the view name and selecting Rename. Do the same for the other window. It is very important to set these up now BEFORE you start adding model elements. As with most things in life it is far easier to learn something by actually doing it, rather than just reading about it. A combination of many such relationships forms a casual-contact network, a sort of de facto association based on one or more shared interests. This is something that I will be stating over and over again on Revit Zone, so get used to it! If there’s only one model, then you have eradicated the possibility for someone to be working on an out-of-date version. Failure to live up to expectations--to keep both explicit and implicit promises--can kill a budding relationship before it breaks through the ground and can create visibility of a kind you don't want. Consequently you need a sequence of drawings to represent the project at every distinct phase. Finally, we will demolish the two existing windows that now fall within our extension. They are named Existing and New Construction. We’ve set up two Views to show the existing and proposed schemes and we’ve set the phasing parameters for each of those views to ensure that they correctly show the state of the project as defined. You will see that there are two parameters relating to Phases. So launch Revit on your PC and start a new, blank project. As we stated above, the first thing we need to do is define our two Phases.  You will find the main Phasing control panel by clicking Phases…  listed under the Settings pull-down menu. By default all model elements have their “Phase demolished” parameter set to “None”. The baton has been passed to you who are reading this, and it is our responsibility to be parents, pacesetters, and partners with the next generation until Jesus comes! Phases: An overview of Revit Phases In this article we will look at Phases within Revit. But when you have established an effective referral-generation system, you will have entered the profitability stage of your relationships with many people--the people who send you referrals and the customers you recruit as a result. To determine how credible you are, people often turn to third parties. The two of you begin to communicate and establish links--perhaps a question or two over the phone about product availability. As they grow, fed by mutual trust and shared benefits, they evolve through three phases: visibility, credibility and profitability. We need a sense of parenthood as we mentor because it’s vital that we be grounded as we dream big dreams. I think that might be oversimplifying it, but the fact is that no generation is exempt from the call to fulfill the Great Commission or to serve God’s purposes as fully as possible.

. And every leader also needs to be mentoring and modeling those just behind us. We serve today because of the repetition of this three-phase process for centuries. The other two tabs are related to the more-advanced use of Phases and will be subject to a separate article.

The time it takes to pass through the phases of a developing relationship is highly variable. The next generation is always watching, so we get to set the pace. So we will change the Phase currently named as “New Construction” to “Proposed”. Set the “Phase Filter” parameter  to “Show Complete” but this time set the “Phase” parameter to “Proposed”. You would like to use Revit to help forecast expenditure over the life of the project. It didn’t stop with Timothy. The whole ethos behind “Building Information Modelling Systems” such as Revit as to have as little duplication of data as possible. Successful businesspeople understand that networking and relationship marketing are more about "farming" than they are about "hunting." It's about building long-lasting connections with other professionals. Visibility and credibility are important in the relationship-building stages of the referral marketing process. But I prefer to refer to the before and after as “Existing and Proposed”. Relationship young thug video. So Paul filled the shoes of a spiritual father to Timothy. Credibility is the quality of being reliable, worthy of confidence. If each person is confident of gaining satisfaction from the relationship, then it will continue to strengthen. Among the most important connections are those with your referral sources, with prospects these referral sources bring you and with customers you recruit from the prospects. They can represent either the time periods themselves or the status of the project at specified points in time. There must always be at least one phase in a project. To do so, highlight one of the windows, bring up its’ “Element Properties” dialogue box, and select “Proposed” for the “Phase demolished” parameter. It must be cultivated, and, like farming, it takes patience. The old saying that results speak louder than words is true. Just ensure that your simple building model looks similar to the one in the image below. Phase Two: Pacesetting The second phase of our ministry mentoring is pacesetting – being the example of what mature ministry looks like. You can rename these to anything you like, as well as add any number of additional phases.
